If you are a teenager when you read this, you might not be very excited by such a title. And yet the younger you are the most interested you should be in longevity. That's because you have more chances to improve it than older people. To me the most important aspect of longevity is not the quantity but the quality of the years we can all add to our lives, specially towards the end.
Stressed Anyone?
Submitted by Boris on Mon, 08/27/2007 - 07:38.I like this idea that chronic stress is of a different nature than occasional ones. Our body is made to fight or flight in case of instant serious danger like a tiger attack. But how does it react to the constant relentless small aggressions of modern life?

Submitted by Boris on Wed, 08/22/2007 - 11:23.It seems to be. "Experts opine that your daily laugh quota total should equal at least 15 chuckles a day, or you are under laughed!" So says this article in the Times of India.
Sense of Humor needed for Longevity?
Submitted by Boris on Wed, 08/22/2007 - 10:43.I never met Noemi Anderson and probably never will. But I wish I had her sense of humor and her zen like approach to life at 110 years of age.

The time has come for Wellness Software!
Submitted by Boris on Mon, 08/20/2007 - 08:30.Kudos to Texas Instruments for its Wellness Program! First it seems to work. In addition the use of a software tool easily ingrains new healthy habits.
One of the benefits is to make people aware of their life-style's destructive habits and to help them acquire new health promoting ones. Not a small advantage in today's world where everything seems to be made to promote junk food and irresponsible attitude.
Tough Exercise?
Submitted by Boris on Fri, 08/17/2007 - 09:13.This BBC article does not really answer the question: Exercise, yes but how much? And it is true that there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all for exercise. It is my experience however that what really matters is to create the habit of regular exercise whatever happens. Good weather, bad weather, good mood, bad mood.

Submitted by Boris on Thu, 08/16/2007 - 09:39.Until we really understand what is going on with cancer why not try good old common sense? Like prevention for instance. When I see the millions that are spent all over the world to cure the multiple forms of cancer, I can't believe we truly know the reasons this horrible disease still develop.
